It’s time for me to take financial control of my life and I don’t mean putting my head down and pulling at the harness day after day with this huge eight behind me. I’ve begun to the process of setting myself free so that I can do the things that are more important to me than money….and it’s started with a dream board.

So V and I are in the middle and right above our heads is text that says ” Building a Strong Furture” and  “More than enough for their future”

The board is filled with pictures of course of material and spiritual representations of abundance.

The Japanese Kanji for Ninja - which symbolizes the blade of the heart  and the practitioners ability to come through a situation where all that matters to you even when your life is threatened.- That’s why ninjustu is known as the “Art of endurance”

Now the work begins.

I model on a regular basis for an art school here in town. I do nude and clothed sessions and I really enjoy it. I couldn’t ask for a better group of people to model for.

Yesterday I was asked to do a figure drawing class and during on of the session breaks an artist came up to me and said ” You belong in a Botticelli painting. Your figure is so classic and your movements are so graceful. I’m jealous and I’m not sure I’m doing you justice”

Psha! justice? silliness. I’m just a model on a stand. What a high compliment though. *blush*

I like to work with all sorts of materials but velvet and satin will cost you extra. I enjoy making cloaks for long time wear, so using durable fabrics is important. I’ll keep you involved in the process and let you know of any changes…if you have questions I’d be glad to answer them.

I’m so excited! Today I received my Inklings book from my favorite artist, Stephanie Pui-Mun Law. I stumbled upon her site when I was in college (nearly 7 years ago…yikes) and have loved her art ever since. I can’t wait for her Tarot deck to come out and I have several pieces of her work hanging in my home. I payed a little extra and asked that my Inklings book come with a sketch in the front cover by the artist. It’s more beautiful than I could imagine and I’m so glad to be able to support her work.

These are pictures of the altars or peices of protection/symbolism around my house.

This is the altar outside my front door for the spirits and fairies. It faces east and helps welcome the sun each day and the bright spirits with it. There is a shed antler I found at our campsite for Beltaine, 2007, a fox tail I got from the local leather goods store, 2 candles, a jar of oatmeal and cinnamon, a jar of loose leaf tea, stones, a jar of celtic sea salt, water and alcohol offerings, beads of bone and an incense burner.

ignore the movies below…This is an altar to my ancestors, specifically to aid my husband while he is away from me. On the right is a picture of my maternal grandparents on their wedding day. I was very close to both of them and my grandfather served in World War 2 as a Marine. He also collected bells and I adored them. He know this and one was given to me after he died. My grandmother was a nurse and assisted in my birth and pre-natal care since I was 3 months premature. We had a very close bound. There is a singing bowl and the buddha of sorrows, to cry for me. To the left is a picture of my paternal great grand parents. He served in World war 1 and she died shortly after my birth but was always saying how much she loved me to others. There is a candle I keep lit and every night I thank and ask them for protection.

These items hang directly above my stove. I found the drawing of St. Brigid at a local artist co-op but I couldn’t pass it up. Even as a Saint the Goddess shines thru. Brighid is the gaurdian of the hearth, healer and smith, what better place for her altar than above the stove? (don’t worry the picture gets moved when I actually cook. ) Next to the picture is a Brighid’s cross, which our tuatha weaves each house, out of yucca every Imbolc.

These items hang by my front door…another Brighid’s cross, a Inari Shrine board from Japan which was given to me by my good friend for my involvment in Ninjutsu and my love of the Kitsune!(foxes) The foxes of Inari are messengers to the god, Inari who (if I’m not mistaken) is the God of Rice. Above that is a ceramic plaque that reads Cead maile failte” a traditional Irish greeting which translates to “you are a thousand times welcome” (or something very close to that)

and of course I have a broom! ( aparently my wall had also been repaired..didn’t know that..anyway)

I bought this handmade broom online from a craftsman and I love it. It comes down for the occasional spiritual cleaning of the house but for the most part it stays above the door.

I just finished this fabulous looking purple cotton and black satin ( I found another fabric I hate to sew but I love how it looks!) for my good friend from October’s End Ms. Maevyn. It was a pleasure to make this for her and it looks so wonderfully witchy! *wink* We are still looking for a good clasp to complete it totally but it looks pretty awesome if you ask me.

It’s been a long time since I’ve updated. I’ve been slowly battling the demon named depression these last few months, it’s been hard although I hate to admit it.

My previous experiences with conventional treatments have all gone wrong and the only thing I can figure out is to try to find a balance between pushing myself and being kind to my needs. I’m now walking away from a job I enjoyed immensely.

It was an incredible opportunity but I couldn’t ask my employers to keep forgiving me for mistakes I shouldn’t have made. If I’m completely honest with myself I probably could have pushed thru but at what cost to my employers, clients and patients? The answer to that question led me to believe the safest thing for all parties was to remove myself and to find another way. The pressure of work was one I couldn’t quite handle anymore.

I tried to leave as gracefully as possible. Now I am faced with how to deal with myself,  alone. The dear spirits and Gods have not clued me in on what will be in store for me. I can’t seem to get an answer about the decision I just made regarding employment….all I know is that this is harder than it’s ever been but there is a way through the dark woods and I’ll find it somehow.

So I still haven’t found my keys..for those of you that were wondering..now would be a good time to cache in any favors the gods/goddess of lost things owe you.

AND most importantly I won’t be blogging or sewing for at least a week because I’m doing my “civic duty” and serving as a juror in a court case…yeah! (sarcasm). Just to let ya’ll know this whole thing is made me incredibly inclined towards violent tendencies, just so that fair warning is out there. Hey you would be pissed too if you had to sit for FIVE days from 8:30 am to 5pm. can’t even bring my knitting..that’s a crime.

it seems that fairies, gnomes, pixies, tricksters or the amnesia spirits have taken your keys?!??!?!

I’ve only lost part of my keys…I still have my car keys but the keys to my work, my house and my mailbox have DISAPPEARED! They are nowhere to be found and I’ve combed the house….I’ve looked in the car, in the trash, in the washing machine, the dryer, under the bed in the cupbords, the fridge (yes…I’m desprate) in the bathroom, under the sink and in the mailbox since I have an extra set….EVERYWHERE.

I give up spirits I don’t want to have to pay for an extra set of very expensive work keys. I’ll give you a bag of M&Ms. Please *sobs*

There aren’t words to describe my anguish over the destruction of the Tara valley for a highway. It is one of the worlds oldest spiritual and historical sights still preserved today.

My soul weeps and it’s a true sign of the state of the world when Tara is to be paved over. The seat of kings and druids, Ireland’s history was made on this place.

I’m not only upset becuase my ancestry lies here, or that I call myself a “Celtic pagan” but for the single fact alone that this place will not be preserved as it once was for future generations to learn from…all in the name of “efficiency” and to make a shorter commute for people we will pave over what those that came before us treasured so highly, fought and died for. It makes me sick. If there are vengeful spirits may they consume those responsible for the destruction and of this place.

There are those that are trying to stop this but the project pushes on..often thru barely legal/and mostly illegal practices by the developing companies but the government turns a blind eye.

We’ve done this a thousand times over in America without thought to consequence or the affect it will have on the earth we live on…that provides for us. When will we learn? At what expense?
